Trisomy Oz Prenatal Support

Choices

If your baby has been diagnosed with trisomy 13 or a similar disorder, whether to continue or end your pregnancy is just the first of many difficult decisions. Here are some of the choices you may need to face.

If you end your pregnancy

Would you like your baby to be acknowledged and celebrated?Do you intend to seek counselling and, if so, which organisation or support group will best suit your needs? What will you do with your baby's remains?Do you plan to hold a funeral service? Would you like photos taken of you and your baby, and what other keepsakes would you like to make?

It is important to remember that your baby belongs to you. We encourage parents in this position to discuss their options with their obstetrics team or other health care providers. Organisations such as Cradle NT can offer support and advice.
