Triosmy Oz Prenatal Support
If your baby dies
While many trisomy 13 babies make it to term, and some survive in the longer term, it is also true that some will die in utero and many, shortly after birth. On receiving a definitive diagnosis, some parents will begin to grieve prenatally - sometimes referred to as 'anticipatory' or 'prepatory' grieving - while others will choose to deal only with the present. Some parents will choose to make arrangements for the death of their child in advance, while others would prefer to wait until later.
These are very personal choices and no one should tell another how to grieve. However, there are many parents willing to share their own experiences, and organisations available to offer you support at this difficult time.
